IPhone 6s & IPhone 6s Plus Weight Comparison Against All IPhones

Apple has always pride themselves in being able to produce thinner and lighter iPhones year after year. However, the trend grinds to a halt last year for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and it is for an inevitable reason.

It is already well-documented that the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are getting heavier than their predecessors. This is due to addition of 3D Touch technology, which causes the display assembly to weigh twice as much as last year’s model (24g vs 12g), and NOT because of the 7000 series aluminum as widely believed. Discounting 3D Touch, the iPhone 6s is actually lighter than the iPhone 6 with the new build material.

Meanwhile, Dadaviz has compiled a neat little weight comparison across the entire iPhone generation, from the first-gen iPhone to the latest ones and it offers us some interesting nuggets of information. The iPhone 6s Plus is no doubt the heaviest iPhone in history while the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s shares the distinction of being the lightest ever.

Are you concerned about Apple (temporarily) veering of their famed tradition? For those are always on the lookout for breakthrough new technology some weight gain is only a small price to pay.
