Apple Pencil V.S Stylus Surface

Few days ago Apple introduced the Apple Pencil which is an accessory of the iPad Pro. Apple did not make any comparison of the Apple Pencil and other stylus which seemed odd. Thus, here’s a short comparison of the Apple Pencil and Microsoft Surface’s Stylus.

The Apple Pencil is perfect for drawing and writing notes which claimed to be 2 times better than the ordinary stylus. The tool detects movement of the Pencil, identifying whether the user is highlighting and drawing a line thin line or a thick line. This detection works depending on the amount of pressure applied by the Pencil.

The Apple Pencil has low latency which allows the tool to quickly produce writings to spontaneously appear on screen without lags. With 12 hours of battery life, the Apple Pencil gives users 30 minutes of usage with only 15 seconds of charging.

The Apple Pencil sells at $99.

Meanwhile, the Stylus on Microsoft Surface has a sensitivity level of 256 with 9.5mm diameter, 137mm in height and weigh at 23g only. It has 3 buttons, right click, eraser and a button that opens up Note. Described as “Dream Stylus”, it provides smooth writing, comfortable drawing and convenient short-cut buttons.

With just a click of the button on the Stylus, Microsoft Surface automatically launches its Note application without any lag. The AAAA battery is said to last 8 months and needs to replacement once it run out.

Stylus Surface sells at $49 and comes in grey, red, blue or black.
