HTC Launches The Desire 728

HTC has just launched a new mid-range phablet known as the Desire 728, which first made itself known back in July on China’s TENAA certification board.

As mentioned, the device features fairly middling specifications under its 5.5-inch display. At first glance, the device very much resembles the higher-end HTC One E9+, right down to its similar dimensions. Its display offers 720 x 1280 in resolution with a pixel density of 267ppi. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 processor with 2GB of RAM. Inside you will find 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via the use of microSD cards.

Shutterbugs will find 13-megapixel rear shooter at the back, working in tandem with a front-facing 5-megapixel selfie-taker. Other specifications include Cat 4 LTE connectivity support, dual SIM support, a pair of BoomSound speakers, and the fact that it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Keeping everything up and running is a passable 2,800mAh battery, although with the included Quick Charge, you are able to get it going again sooner, despite the shorter battery life. At the moment, the HTC Desire 728 is only made available in China at the moment, going for a retail asking price of 11,699 Yuan (RM1,153.44).
